Our 20,000th blanket ...........

Photo of Mrs. Campion's third grade Class at Lower Salford Elementary School

On April 1, 2008 the children of the third grade class of the Lower Salford Elementary School, in Harleysville, presented us with a quilt which they had made as a class project.  Mrs. Campion, the class’ teacher, was delighted to have Michelle Johnson coordinate this activity.  As the mother of a student in the class, Michelle had each child design a square to be included in that quilt.  Then Michelle and her mother sewed the quilt into the lovely product you see here.

When Barbara Epstein accepted the quilt, she promised the children that it would be delivered to Central Montgomery Medical Center since that is one of the hospitals which service the area in which they live.  On April 27, 2008, Michelle and Barbara delivered that blanket to the hospital where it was received by Audrey Jadczak, the Chief Nurse Officer at Central Montgomery Medical Center.

Having such a meaningful story at a time when our chapter was anticipating delivering our 20,000th blanket, it was quite appropriate that this quilt be so labeled.  This was a special achievement for the students as well as our chapter of Project Linus.
